Welcome to the Wessex Branch of the British Psychological Society!

   
The Wessex Branch covers the South of England from Dorset in the west to East Sussex in the east and up to Berkshire in the north, and includes the Isle of Wight. You are automatically a member of the Wessex Branch if your postcode is one of the following:

DT, BH, SP, SO, RG, KT, SM, GU, CR, RH, BN, PO
We organise workshops and conferences in the south and south-east area of England and send regular Bulletins to members to publicise events and other items of interest.

Wessex Branch AGM & Rules

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Wessex Branch will be held on Wednesday 4 June 2014, 6pm at Room 1.05, Department of Psychology, King Henry Building, University of Portsmouth, PO1 2DK.

Nominations for the above vacancies should be sent to the Honorary Secretary on the enclosed nomination form, at the Society’s offices to reach us no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 23 April 2014, at the address on the nomination form.

All nominees must be Voting Members of the Wessex Branch unless otherwise specified. The nominations require a proposer and seconder who must be Full Members of the Wessex Branch and the consent of the nominee to accept office, if elected, must be obtained in writing.

Nominees are asked to complete brief biographical details of not more than 300 words, using the reverse of the nomination form. This information will be used should a ballot be necessary.

To submit a nomination by email please scan a copy of the signed form and send it to the email address stated on the nomination form.
Alternatively, if the nominee does not have the signatures for the proposer or seconder, the nominee can email the completed form and ask that the proposer or seconder separately send an email from their Society-registered email address - including their membership number - to Member Network Services, stating they are happy to propose or second the nominee.

Wessex Branch Hubs

As the Wessex Branch covers such an extended area, we have formed a number of local "Hubs" to cater for members who are unable to attend Branch events held some distance from their location.

Bursaries

Bursaries are available for students to attend conferences in the region. To be eligible, students must be members of the British Psychological Society, and live or study in Wessex. Please visit the bursaries section to view the Branch's policy on bursaries and apply now!
