Welcome to the Wessex Branch of the British Psychological Society!

   
WELCOME TO THE WESSEX BRANCH
The Wessex Branch covers the South of England from Dorset in the west to East Sussex in the east and up to Berkshire in the north, and includes the Isle of Wight. You are automatically a member of the Wessex Branch if your postcode is one of the following:

DT, BH, SP, SO, RG, KT, SM, GU, CR, RH, BN, PO

We organise Workshops and Conferences in the south and south-east area of England and send regular Bulletins to members to publicise events and other items of interest.

Wessex Branch Annual General Meeting and talk by Dr Carole Allan

Wednesday 28th March at 1800 hours, Room HC023, Southampton Solent University.
Refreshments will be available in room HC019 from 1715 hours. Following the AGM, a talk will be given by the Society's President, Dr Carole Allan. This will be entitled: Developing practitioner roles: the Society that Unites us. Synopsis of talk President's Synopsis Branch AGM 2012 .

2nd International Conference on Psychology and the Internet

This event will now take place in May 2013. It will be held at Bournemouth University.
This 2nd conference will provide a timely reflection of the massive changes over this last decade to society and the individual as a result of the increasingly pervasive use of technology in every aspect of our lives.

Non Violent Resistance Therapy - 2-day introductory workshop

25th-26th May 2012, University of Sussex. Speaker: Dr Peter Jakob. The workshop will enable delegates to develop a theoretical understanding of the NVR approach and offer experiential opportunities for learning to integrate some of its key methods in their own psychological practice. Using Improvisation in Organisations

Wednesday 13th June, Friends' Meeting House, Brighton
Event organised jointly by Wessex Branch Sussex Hub and the Division of Occupational Psychology.

As the Branch covers such an extended area, we have formed a number of local "Hubs" to cater for members who are unable to attend Branch events held some distance from their location. Please follows the link to the Membership Survey to complete a questionnaire which will help us to organise the Hubs as you would like them. Wessex Branch Spring and Autumn Bulletins

These are now available to download from the BPS website. You should log into your BPS account and go to Shop at the top of the screen. Type Wessex Bulletin in the Search the Shop area. You will then be able to download either the Spring 2011 edition or the Autumn 2011 edition at no cost.
